Restaurant & bar

A hotel POS that actually reaches the guest's room bill.

Most hotel bars run a till that knows nothing about the front desk. The docket gets written on a pad, walked to reception, and lost somewhere in between — and the guest checks out clean. Pegasus ties every order to the reservation itself.

The leak isn't theft. It's the walk between the bar and reception.

A guest in A104 orders dinner and says “put it on my room.” Someone writes it on a pad. That pad has to survive a shift change, a busy Friday and a walk across the property before it becomes a line on a folio.

When it doesn't, nobody stole anything — the hotel simply served food it never billed for. And because the same pad is the only record of what left the store, the bar's stock never reconciles either.

The order is tied to the reservation

Not to a room number shouted across a lobby. The cashier links the guest in the cart, and Pegasus posts the charge onto that reservation's folio the moment the payment is accepted — carrying the outlet it came from.

Only in-house guests can charge

A room charge is refused if the order has no linked reservation, if the reservation no longer exists, or if the guest is not currently checked in. The wrong folio cannot be billed by accident.

Checkout is blocked until it's paid

A guest cannot check out while a single kobo is outstanding — no override. The dinner posted at 9pm is settled at the desk the next morning, because the folio will not balance otherwise.

Stock moves when the sale does

Selling a bottle depletes it from the outlet's stock, and removing it from the order restores it. What left the store and what was rung up sit side by side, so a gap has a name and a time.

A real POS, not a cash register.

Each outlet — restaurant, bar, café, pool — gets its own menu, its own order numbering and its own sales figures, while writing to the hotel's single ledger.

  • Multi-outlet terminal with per-outlet menus, categories and item availability
  • Order numbers per outlet — RST-0001, BAR-0001 — issued atomically, so two concurrent sales never collide
  • Cash, bank transfer, Moniepoint and cheque as first-class tenders, plus split payments across them
  • Per-order and per-item discounts, recorded as reversible ledger lines rather than silent zeros
  • Void controls: only while an order is unpaid, never after money has changed hands
  • Refunds tied to the exact payment being reversed, so refunding cash never credits a folio
  • Every payment stamped with the staff member and shift that took it
  • 80mm thermal receipts, and a sales dashboard by outlet, tender and order type
